Woman On The Run
Woman on the Run (1950) is a classic film noir crime thriller starring Ann Sheridan and Dennis O'Keefe.
After witnessing a gangland murder on the streets of San Francisco, Frank Johnson realizes that the killers may come after him next. Rather than remain under police protection, he disappears into the city, leaving the authorities scrambling to find him before the mob does.
Frank's estranged wife, Eleanor, reluctantly joins the search and begins following a trail of clues through San Francisco. Along the way, she is assisted by a persistent newspaper reporter who seems determined to get the story. As Eleanor gets closer to finding her husband, she discovers that the situation is far more dangerous than she initially believed.
Featuring atmospheric nighttime photography, suspenseful twists, sharp dialogue, and extensive San Francisco locations, Woman on the Run is an underrated example of 1950s film noir that mixes murder mystery, marital drama, and a tense race against time.
