Jack and the Beanstalk

⁣Jack and the Beanstalk (1952) is a colorful fantasy comedy starring Abbott and Costello in a whimsical retelling of the classic fairy tale. The story begins when Lou Costello’s character, Jack, is hired to babysit a young boy who asks him to read the story of “Jack and the Beanstalk.” As Jack drifts off, he dreams that he is the hero of the tale, with Bud Abbott playing his shrewd but self-serving sidekick. The dream takes the audience into a magical kingdom filled with a towering beanstalk, a fearsome giant, a kidnapped princess, and plenty of slapstick humor. Mixing music, comedy, and adventure, the film blends fantasy storytelling with Abbott and Costello’s signature banter, delivering a playful twist on a beloved children’s story.
